Engine Break (Not Literally)

Lessons come from the unlikeliest sources and places – my favorite part – you can always get surprised.

Living in Texas, getting gas becomes almost a second nature. Thankfully for my vehicle and commute, I visit Shell only about once every two weeks. For the first time today, the Gas Station Entertainment network was playing at the place where I usually fill up. Did you know that the engine’s biggest wear and tear happens in the first 15 minutes of driving? That’s why they say to accelerate slowly and keep it moderate in those initial driving moments. No more jerky motions = longer-lasting engine.
